Exercise Classes


Blackstone Valley Physical Therapy Services is pleased to offer exercise classes for both current and prior patients, as well as Wellness program members, and even people that don’t fall into the aforementioned groups. These classes are to be held in our gym at the times indicated below. We intend these class to be for varying levels on fitness, but please check with the instructor if you have questions, and please check with your physician if you have any medical conditions that may preclude you from participating.

We reserve the right to cancel classes without adequate attendance and will try to do so at least 4 hours in advance. When possible, we will contact attendees.

Requirements of Participants

  • Participants must be able to physically handle the classes. Treating therapists can be consulted, and in absence of a treating clinician, the participant’s physician should be consulted.
  • Releases must be signed by participants that aren’t Wellness Program Members.
  • Current Members of the Wellness Program will be eligible for a discount.

How do I sign up?

The signup process is handled at the BVPTS office in the Linwood Mill. If there is a medical condition or issue limiting participation, we will postpone class use for up to 6 months. Beyond that time will be on a case-by-case situation and on the availability of the schedule. We reserve the right to prioritize attendance based on members signing up. As you purchase the classes, you will select the dates/classes you will attend. In the case that you miss a class, there are no refunds due to the small size of the class. We can remove you from the class list with 48 hours notice and will do our best to reschedule you.

Hatha Yoga Class

Instructor: Jessica Lynch, PT, DPT, AFAA group exercise instructor

When: Thursdays January 6-March 3 7:20-8:00pm

Cost: $160 for 8 weeks

Where: Blackstone Valley Physical Therapy Services Wellness Gym

Description: Hatha is a gentle form of yoga that is great for beginners. It focuses on improving mind-body awareness. Breath is incorporated through movement between postures or asanas. It helps to improve flexibility, balance, and core strength. Hatha yoga is a great stress reliever and can help physical, mental, and emotional health. Class will typically end with a meditation.

Strength Training Class

When: January 13th - March 10th: Thursdays 12-1pm

Cost: $200 for all 8 weeks


  • A class suited for beginners or those looking for a refresher on building strength using KB, dumb bells and barbells.
  • Class will focus on proper mechanics and form, progressions, regressions and variations of movements to best suit a variety of people.
  • Education on the components of a well-rounded program and how to design a good workout
  • At the end of the 8 weeks you should have the tools and confidence you need to put together your own strength workouts!

Strong Mother Class

When:February 3rd - March 24th: Thursdays 5:45-6:30pm

Cost: $200 for all 8 weeks


  • A class suited for Moms of all ages and stages
  • Modifications given for all levels whether you are recently postpartum, haven't exercised in a while after having kids or someone who exercises regularly and wants more of a challenge
  • Classes will be circuit style and consist of functional strength exercises utilizing dumbbells, kettlebells and resistance bands
  • At the end of the 8 weeks you should feel stronger and more confident with everyday movement

TRX Class

Temporarily on Hold

Instructor: Marcia Witkus, PTA, AFAA group exercise instructor, MADD DOG spinning and certified TRX instructor.

When: Thursdays 6PM-7PM

Where: Blackstone Valley Physical Therapy Services Wellness Gym

Description: TRX is a total body exercise workout for both beginners to the advanced level fitness enthusiast which uses gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises including strengthening, stretching and stability work. Every exercise requires you to engage your core! It is a total body workout and you are in control of how much you challenge yourself! It is as simple as adjusting your body position to add or decrease resistance.
